Who We Are

Established in 2000, the CAF-FCA is a federally chartered, multi-partite, not-for-profit organization working to influence pan-Canadian apprenticeship strategies through research, discussion and collaboration with the apprenticeship community and to promote apprenticeship as an effective model for training and education, contributing to the development of a skilled, productive, inclusive and mobile labour force.

The work of the organization is guided by a Board of Directors comprised of more than 40 people from across Canada and representing every aspect of the apprenticeship community. The Board acts on behalf of, and is accountable to, the following groups of members and stakeholders.

  • Equity groups (including aboriginal peoples, women, persons with disabilities, and visible minorities)

  • Canadian Council of Directors of Apprenticeship

The Board is supported by a core Secretariat Staff of dedicated professional’s at CAF-FCA’s Ottawa office.
