What We Do

Our Vision:

CAF-FCA is a driving force for healthy, vibrant and progressive pan-Canadian apprenticeship systems.

Our Mission:

  • To influence pan-Canadian apprenticeship strategies through research, discussion and collaboration with the apprenticeship community.
  • To promote apprenticeship as an effective model for training and education, contributing to the development of a skilled, productive, inclusive and mobile labour force.

Since its creation in 2000, CAF-FCA’s role has grown and adapted to concentrate on influencing apprenticeship strategies in three areas.

  • Research: We undertake a variety of research projects each year, examining issues of concern to the apprenticeship community.
  • Discussion and Collaboration: We consult with members and stakeholders through a wide range of activities.
  • Promotion and Outreach: We take a leadership role in promoting the benefits of apprenticeship training and the skilled trades.
