Call for Abstracts Issue #2

The Canadian Apprenticeship Forum – Forum canadien sur l’apprentissage (CAF-FCA) is seeking submissions for the next issue of its Canadian Apprenticeship Journal (CAJ). Take part in this exciting venture by submitting your abstract today.

Here is your opportunity to share findings and inform the discussion on apprenticeships in Canada by contributing to one of the first issues of the CAJ, a unique peer-reviewed e-journal that focuses on important issues facing the Canadian apprenticeship community.

Submit an abstract of up to 200 words on your potential submission. Please note, at this time we are accepting and reviewing article abstracts only. Invitations to submit full research or feature articles will follow. An invitation to submit a full article does not guarantee publication of the article; all final decisions regarding articles rest with the CAF-FCA Board of Directors.

The CAJ is a venue for presenting high-quality, relevant research and informative feature articles, and creating a forum for discussion and debate in the apprenticeship community on a national level. Both national and international submissions will be considered.

Researchers, educators, policy analysts and key decision makers who focus on apprenticeship training and certification issues including the Canadian Council of Directors of Apprenticeship (CCDA), Sector Councils, provincial/territorial government apprenticeship authorities, employer and labour associations, as well as international apprenticeship bodies may contribute to and be the audience for the CAJ.

Research articles:

Findings and analysis by qualified scholars and researchers based on quantitative and/or qualitative research in apprenticeship topics of national, as well as international and provincial, significance.

Feature articles:

Updates on current work in areas of apprenticeship and certification; best practices and challenges; apprentice or employer profiles; other topics as appropriate.

Abstract submission guidelines:

Abstracts should be no more than 200 words and must be submitted via email to the contact listed below. Abstracts may be submitted in English or French and must be accompanied by a CV (research articles) or a sample of your writing (feature articles). Please also indicate which stage your article is at (i.e. idea, draft form or previously published).

Deadline for abstracts:

Thursday, December 3, 2009.
