[Finding an employer sponsor] Finding an employer sponsor can be one of the greatest challenges along the road to certification, and we’d like to hear your stories.

[Finding an employer sponsor] The Canadian Apprenticeship Forum-Forum canadien sur l’apprentissage (CAF-FCA) is conducting a research study to explore the challenges apprentices may face when finding an employer sponsor.

As part of our research, we have hired Ipsos Reid Public Affairs to conduct regional focus groups with apprentices in:

  • Halifax, NS
  • Montreal, QC (in French)
  • Toronto, ON
  • Moose Jaw, SK
  • Vancouver, BC
  • Northern Canada (online with participants from various regions)

Two focus groups will be held in each of these locations during the last week of February, 2009.

[Finding an employer sponsor] Those who qualify and attend will receive a cash incentive for contributing to our research.

If you are interested in participating, please click or visit the following link in order to complete a short online questionnaire to see if you qualify to participate:

If you qualify, you may be contacted by phone regarding specific locations, dates and times, and to confirm your attendance.

The information gathered from the focus groups will be included in a research report, and will also be used to develop tips for future apprentices on our website.
