Database of Assessment Tools for Recruiting and Retaining Apprentices

Employers have told CAF-FCA they need better ways to assess and support apprentices. Apprentices tell us how time consuming and frustrating it can be when they can’t find an employer that meets their needs and they have to keep searching. Tools for assessing apprentices’ aptitudes, various work and life experiences, and attitudes can help both the employer and apprentice. Assessment tools already exist and have been created by governments and industry associations. Employers, however, do not have the time to search on multiple websites. CAF-FCA will compile a list of existing tools in order to help employers find the appropriate tool for their human resources and industry needs. Any tools or ways of assessment that have shown to work more effectively for women, persons with disabilities, visible minorities, and Aboriginal people will be included in the database
